Hot Rod Radio was started in 1994 as a weekly two-hour music program of “golden oldies”, hosted by popular broadcast personality, Wings Kalahan.  After a couple of years, we felt that it was time to take Hot Rod Radio to the next level and Hot Rod Radio USA® was born.  The listeners loved his new program and it was received with great success.  A few years ago we moved forward again and began syndicating Hot Rod Radio USA® on a national basis. Hot Rod Radio USA® is a weekly syndicated two-hour radio show, now heard on radio stations all over the country. Our station affiliates are excited about the program, as it continues to dominate its time slot and generates weekend income for their stations.  Hot Rod Radio USA® is not an automotive talk show. We’ll leave those shows to the other guys.  Hot Rod Radio USA® is an oldies/classic rock music program with a light automotive theme, geared to the musical tastes of the baby boomer generation.   It’s a nitch market never before tapped.

Wings’ love of music and hot rods is evident to all who listen to his selection of both the smash hits and obscure recordings from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s.  If the lyrics don’t say “hot rod”, they will bring back memories of your own cruisin’ nights and hot rod days!  It’s motorhead music madness at its finest!  Between the music and national advertising that supports each program, Wings liberally sprinkles his own hilarious patter and sound effects reminiscent of the “superjocks” of yesteryear.

You can also experience Wings’ showmanship firsthand at all of the National Street Rod Association’s (NSRA) events where he serves as the on-air host, spinning his favorite hot rod music between announcements of each of the weekend’s activities.

Catch Hot Rod Radio USA Saturday mornings at 11am on WISL radio.
